Project proposals

These are the lists of projects that I have proposed year-by-year, from which students have selected. Some of which now appear above.

Accessing Windows without a mouse

Graphical user interfaces have made computer use much easier - for most people ...but this is not necessarily the case for people who cannot use a mouse for any reason, such as physical disability. Manufacturers have recognized this by making it possible to use the interface without the mouse, using keyboard-based interactions instead. However, this form of interaction is not necessarily very easy or intuitive and some people may need the benefit of a manual to find out how they can access all the features of the interface through the keyboard. Former undergraduate student, Richard Williamson, has written such a manual for Microsoft Windows, which is freely available on-line.

Please feel free to use the manual. Let us know how useful you found it and whether it can be improved.
