Extreme Programming Applied: playing to win.
Addison Wesley. 2002

rating : 3.5 : worth reading
review : 25 September 2002

This is yet another good book in the Extreme Programming series. This time the authors cover how to get XP projects up and running for real. They cover management issues, particularly how to persuade people to let you use XP in the first place (as always, don't talk about the technology: talk about how using XP can achieve their business or management goals). They provide step by step guidance on how to introduce each of the individual XP practices, and how to keep on track. The text is enlivened with lots of interesting real-world anecdotes from XPers in the field.

If you are thinking of using XP for real, or are about to start using it, read this book first. A worthwhile addition to the series.
