filtering policy 
Like most people these days, I have problems with spam email.

In an attempt to cut down the volume of rubbish I have to wade through, all mail arriving in any of my email accounts (work or personal) is subjected to fairly rigorous filtering.

The filters I use are as intelligent as I can make them - for example, they use all the header information to try to establish where email has actually originated, rather than relying simply on "From:" or "Reply to:" fields. Despite this, occasional mistakes do inevitably occur, and odd legitimate emails get thrown away with the junk.

I usually read email regularly even when on holiday, so if you have sent me an email and I have not responded within a week, it is sensible to assume that your email might not have reached me, and contact me by phone or fax instead.

I apologise for any inconvenience caused, but without the use of these filters my inbox would simply be unmanageable.
