My main interests are in teaching programming, problem solving and data structure to beginners. In particular the use of alternative approaches to engage students into computing sciences (Outreach program at Durham university). This include the use of Lego robots, Scratch software.

Other interests include online learning, assessment and feedback, investigating the use of confidence-based marking and SWATT (SoftWare Assessment Through Tagging system developed at Durham University)
