Application to Image Processing.

Finally, in order to test and demonstrate the practicality of the resulting systems, a number of low- and intermediate-level image processing algorithms were implemented in the two LINDA-embeddings. This showed that the tuple-space model provides great flexibility in the design of parallel algorithms, and that the asynchronous, non-deterministic properties of LINDA were of particular importance. The central rôle played by the York `bulk' data primitives was also established.
