Hans-Georg Moeller.
Luhmann Explained: from souls to systems.
Open Court. 2006

Luhmann Explained is a user-friendly introduction to the social systems theory of Niklas Luhmann (1927-1998), whose ‘supertheory’ offers a radically novel description of our society that breaks with older humanist concepts. It explains the economy and mass media from a cybernetic perspective and integrates research from sociology, philosophy, and biology to arrive at a complete analysis of ‘world society’.

Professor Moeller gives special attention to the present-day relevance of Luhmann’s theory with respect to globalization, electronic mass media, ethics, and new forms of protest.
