I am an aerospace researcher. I have a Computer Science background and my field of expertise is Aerospace Real-Time Safety-Critical Systems. I work for EADS Astrium Ltd and the University of York (UK). In Astrium I work as Research Engineer in the Advanced Studies & Data Processing team. This website only concerns my work at the University of York. At UniYork, I do research under the supervision of Prof. John McDermid. I am a member of the High Integrity Systems Engineering group (HISE) in the Department of Computer Science. I am also a member of the York University Technology Centre (YUTC). Who I am a computer scientist, musician,... who lives his life in the light of the Decadent Movement. A common denominator on both my artistic and scientific interests is the impact of unpredictable events on the life of human beings, which is a concept that grabbed the attention of several decadent artists in the past, too. Nowadays, I explore unpredictability studying and trying to mitigate the effects of unpredictable changes in the operating scenario of Safety Critical Systems, i.e. systems whose failure or malfunction may result in death or serious injury to people (e.g. aircraft, spacecraft, nuclear power plants). The majority of pictures in this website are taken by my friend and collegue Pierre Andrews.
