Dear All,

We invite you again, through this 2nd call, to submit a paper to The 5th
International Conference in Artificial Economics, taking place in
Valladolid (Spain), 10-11 September 2009. This two-day event will offer
presentations of papers selected by the program committee after a blindly
double review, as well as keynote sessions by invited speakers, that are
experts in Artificial Intelligence and Economics. Exchanges and
discussions will have a large space in the final program.

AIMS AND SCOPE:
The main aim of the event is to favor the meeting of people and ideas from
both, the Computer Science community and the Economics and Finance
community, in order to be able to construct a much structured
multi-disciplinary approach to the complexity of Economics.

Topics include but are not limited to the following:
•	Agent-Based microfoundations of macroeconomic activity.
•	Discrete Choice Models in Economics and Management Sciences
•	Emergence and Dynamics of Norms and Conventions
•	Financial Market and Organization Models (Stock Price Dynamics, Herding
in Financial Markets)
•	Epistemology and Agent-Based Methodological Issues
•	Dynamics of Social and Economic Networks
•	Complexity and Market Dynamics
•	The feedback between Computational Game theory, Experimental Economics
and Artificial Economics.

IMPORTANT DATES:

Submission of short papers deadline: February 23rd, 2009
Notification of acceptance: April 6th, 2009
Submission of final paper deadline: May 16th, 2009
Artificial Economics 2009 in Valladolid (Spain): September 10-11th, 2009


PUBLICATION:
Proceedings of the symposium will be published as a volume of the Lecture
Notes in Economics and Mathematical Systems serie published by Springer.

After the event we plan to publish in a special issue of a Journal with
JCR impact factor, the extended and revised versions of some selected
papers modified after the remarks and discussions that will take place
during the Conference

INVITED SPEAKERS:
Prof. Dr. Carles Sierra. Institute of Research on Artificial Intelligence
of the Spanish Council for Scientific Research.
Title of the talk: “Agents, Information and Negotiation”


Prof. Dr. Sorin Solomon. Racah Institute of Physics at the Hebrew
University of Jerusalem.
Title of the talk: “How do Micro-Economic Simple Rules Generate Complex
Macro-Economic Behavior? An Agent Based Modelling Approach for Connecting
Empirical Facts with Theoretical Predictions”

SUBMISSION:

The short version of the paper to be reviewed must be 5 pages long.
The long version of the accepted paper must be 12 pages long.

Authors should respect Springer typesetting guidelines. Formatting
instructions for the papers are available through the website of the
symposium at:

The short version and a copy without the author’s identification should be
sent to: ae2009@eis.uva.es
