Dear ALAD subscriber,
This year has seen many workshops on the topic of learning agents: (Paris, Saint Petersburg, at the
AAMAS conference, and at AAAI). On one hand, the number of workshops has shown the increased
interest in this research area, but on the other hand submissions to many events were lower than
expected and the research community had no opportunity to meet as a whole.
I would like to solicit opinions on whether it would be worthwhile to have a single joint workshop
or conference on adaptive/learning agents and MAS next year, instead of several smaller events.
There is, of course, no way to enforce this, but since most potential event chairs are on the ALAD
mailing list, this is a good place to start a discussion.
The Paris workshop on Adaptive Agents and MAS (see also www.aamas.net) will be followed up in its
sixth installment next year in Brussels, with Ann Nowe as the chair. This may be a good venue for
the joint workshop.
Please send your contributions to the discussion to this mailing list (alad@cs.york.ac.uk), rather
than to me personally to keep the discussion as inclusive as possible.
Best wishes,
Daniel
