I am a PhD student at the University of York studying Artificial Intelligence under the supervision of Prof Peter I. Cowling and Dr. Edward Powley. I am a member of the Artificial Intelligence Group and the York Centre For Complex Systems Analysis (YCCSA)

My research is investigating the application of Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS) methods to games with hidden information and uncertainty. In particular I have investiaged board and card games and the developement of AI opponents suitable for mobile versions of games. I also contributed to the winning entry off the 2012 PTSP competition which used MCTS.

My hobbies include Music and Gaming. I a fan of real-time strategy (RTS) games and PC games in general. I also play guitar in the bands Forneus and Hallowed Point.
