I am a Research Associate in the York Centre for Complex Systems Analysis (YCCSA) and the Department of Computer Science at the University of York, UK. I am currently writing up my PhD in Computer Science.
My main research interests are emergence and self-organisation, especially evolution and computer programs that can evolve. I am particularly interested in fractals, including the mathematics underlying them. I also have a passing interest in user interfaces, psychology and education.
I developed the web application for running the Stringmol Artificial Chemistry in a web browser, for the RUTSAC11 tutorial at the ECAL11 conference in Paris.
My favourite things to code are computer games, websites and fractal visualisations. I have a flash games website.
