Well, to adapt the old saying: "The optimist thinks these are the 100 best applets; the pessimist knows they are". I was severely underwhelmed by the majority of these examples (described in brief overview only, with pointers to their Web locations), meant to demonstrate all that is good about Java. I hope the reason is that it is still early days, but then why bother publishing the fact?
